Im back and i have a small question!!!

Im getting the tank ready tomorrow my question is how long should i run my lights on the tank for my cycle??? Should it be 4 hour or 8 hrs or less??? I dont remember what i did last time i set it up Thanks for the help everyone

If you just have rock in, you don't need to have the lights on at all.

This is true but if you add a fish or invert for the purpose of running a cycle, the added light helps the microflora and microfauna get going on the rock. Unless barren or the rock needs to be cured of bad algae, a little light for a few hours can be a good thing or at least not hurt.

I think it is a preference thing. If you want to see just your rock or sand bed leave em' on. Congrats on the set-up.
