Thanks Boomer, sorry it was not a chem issue that you could have helped me moe with.

Well I'm being a little lazy here cause I feel like crap and sitting in the doctors office so i didnt back track the posts in this thread but wouldn't a nice sized refugium with plants in it increase o2 levels some seeing plants give off oxygen as a waste product? Not sure how much it will benefit things as there are so many variables to factor in, but the thought just ran across my mind and thought I'd toss it out there. :)

It was not over! While we cleaned the tank last night we kept feeling something. My wife just had a manicure and she say it was very strong around her finger nails. She talk me into a quick manicure so I could feel it too. I think it was her head, of course i had humor her. I feel nothing when I put my hands in the tank. She said stand where she stand. I feel nothing I said. She said wear her slippers and I reply ok but no pictures. OUCH!!! That not feel so good.

To narrow it down we unplug everything and no current going through water. Now one by one we plug in again and put one finger in tank each time. Soon we come to UV filter, OUCH that is it!

Now I have to ask do I need UV Filter? For now I unplug and wonder if I need it and if I need it should I have it repair. The brand is MWave 40 Watt and I reed they are good.

What do you think?

You know there is a lot of good information here. Some things I would look at would be flow/contact time in sump. I am hoping you have 3-5 times flow returning back to your tank. 100 gallon tank- you want 300-500 gallon return flow. Too much and contact time is shortened. Too little contact time and you are not skimming your tank as efficient as possible.

UV sterilizers aren't required. They have the pros and cons, but I'd say that most takes are run, without them. Stray current is fun to feel isn't it? lol

My finger still tingle from it, just glad I found problem. For now I have to run without the UV Filter, just to see if I really need one.

Nice to see you "finally" resolved the issue. UV, no, you really do not need it. I'll bet greater than 95 % of reefers don't use them ;)
