Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum

Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

I find it funny (or maybe I should say sad) that each new BOD seems to have to hash out the same topics over and over. I think it would be great if we change that and hand off a package to the next BOD, e.g. info on non-profit, banking, website, e-mail account etc. It seems each BOD has almost had to start from scratch, no wonder people burn-out on volunteering for this job (i am not judging just from these threads but I had reviewed quite a few threads from the last couple of years a couple of months ago). I think finalizing the charter could be another big step for making future transitions smoother, we have already made the club an official non-profit (something that appears to have been discussed over and over) so getting an approved charter would go a long way towards helping out the club for the long term.

this was exactly the point i was trying to make :)
all this stuff has happened before...lol
plus theres some valuable ideas there too.
it's an excellent idea to have a charter of simple guide lines and a packet of goo to hand off to the new bod members, i fully agree...:)

well, it was pretty good, i wish i knew what the total amount of people was that showed...
but i do remember grumblings about how nobody in the club really bought much from the vendors that day...did it make them go to those stores later??
maybe...but the real interesting thing was everyone in the same room getting along, and not leaving a shytewake of drama everywhere.:)
to me thats a perfect summer outdoor event, or something that we should incorporate into the bbq, so that sponsors can come and enjoy what typically is the largest member/guest turn out for the year, and get to make their prescence known in a non competative, party like atmosphere. no pressure or stress, just passive advertising for their companies...

I like it.....It might also make them feel like they wont be forgotten over the summer. One last "confidence boost" so to speak, or thank you for being our sponsor, however you want to look at it.
