hey my xenia isnt doing to well so I heard that I could put iodine in my tank and see if it does better, is this true? and also will the iodine affect any of my other tank mates? I have 2 clowns a bi colored blenny and assorted zoas, and xenia

The +/- of Iodine (being good for Xenia) is debated alot here on RF....( a lot of "it works for me" evidence is posted but no scientific proof yet....)

I, personally, don't dose any iodine and my xenia grows like mad...
(+ I don't like the idea of deliberatly dosing a chemical w/o being able to accurately measure it's concentration later...)

just my $.02.

I'll go the other way and recommend dosing iodine. It is the only thing that allowed me to keep it healthy. everyone's water chemistry is different based on the starting water, type of salt, food, skimmer. Sometimes it is a matter of what works for you. For me, iodine was great for my xenia.
