and if you are , what is needed becides the stock filter ,
and can you drill this tank and add a larger sump ??
thinking of running a little tank for a pair of mated clowns , and maybe some zoas
what are your thaughts fellow reefers ????
:eyebrows:

You can drill it if it isn't tempered which it probably isn't. I would use a Korailia nano/pico for flow (cheap). Setting up a sump for a tank that big is kinda ridiculous....but awesome..

yeah.... please dont put 2 clownfish in a 5g.... :(
that would not be good at all for those poor fish.

as akonuchi mentioned, there are a bunch of nano gobys out there, and they would be vastly more appropriate.
possibly a yasha hasha goby and a candy pistol shrimp would be nice

Kinda crazy , I agree , was thinking out of the box lastnight but how cool would it be to have a 5 gal tank with a 20 gal sump ,the clown thaught was to allow them to grow large enough to to be put in the main tank with out being eaten , but it looks like i should re think the whole thing

With a tank that small you are going to have to be really on top of water chemistry. As far as adding a sump....you could, but really a sump 4 times the size of your tank? I'm not saying not to do it, but think about teh associated costs. (pump etc)

With 5 gallons mechanical filtration and regular water changes combined with good husbandry should be all you need. If you are going to grow many different types of corals in there I suggest getting at least 1 additional stunner strip if not expanding to the full 3.
