Is Clam looking OK?

Should be OK, the more light the better. In a 20 gal, keeping the water fresh and the Calcium and alkalinity in range is important for your clam. Does it show any signs of growth? That would be evidenced by fresh white shell growth at the edges?

Thanks,
I am not sure if it is growing. I have only gotten the clam for maybe a month now. I really wouldn't even know what to look for. I will try to see if there is white shells growing at the edges once he closes up. Hard to tell now.

If you put your hand between the clam and the light source, the clam should quicly close up (a sign of a healthy clam) and then you should be able to see if there is any new growth on the shell.

In the picture it appears there is some shell growth showing at the bottom. Nice looking clam, very similiar in color to mine!

sorry to interfere, but I moved my clam the other day and when I took it, it immediately closed, but still was open about half an inch, healthy??
(I only purchased it about a week ago)
