Is my clam okay?

My clam seems to be really open. The larger of the mouths is really wide. My clam has been in my tank for 2 days. Is something wrong with it? Also my clam is 2.5 inches, do i need to feed it? Thanks.

I will post a pic when i can, all i have is a camera phone but have Nikon D50 camera coming in the mail. It should arive monday.
