is new skimmer doing good? (picture)

how do i know if my DIY skimmer is doing a good job or not?
first week it produced 5 gallons of yellow/green
second week 2 gallons of light green
now, 4th week, its much less but also much darker, i would guess 1/4 cup per day.
is that normal?
its a 100g with 40g sump/fuge
well under stocked tank with over stocked fuge(grape, cheato, pods by the millions)

tank was filled 4 months ago with tap water, phosphates removed and wc with RO

i hope thats enough info for you guys to kindly tell me if the skimmer is doing ok or not

i get about 2-3cups a week of dark thick nastyness a week with my aqua C.

So that is a down-draft, airstone-powered skimmer, correct?

To me, it looks like you are skimming a bit wetter than I prefer. I would probably extend the riser tube a bit.

would i notice a huge difference if i upgrade to acua c 21?
or would it be a little better and not worth the 300?
