i just found him cruzing on top my closed brain when i had the lights off i think i got a few of these on a chunk of live rock with a rose tip i got last week i have only seen him come out at night. is it a reef safe type or do i have a prob and if i do how is the best way to rid of them ? thanks

you should be fine most people cant get rid of them no matter how much they try unless you find its natural predator

It is 100% reef safe.
If you find one, you probaly have dozens if not 100s
Most tanks have them
they actually (in my theory) help keep some of the underside and dark holes in the rocks clean..
Cause thats were the usually hang out. and are good scavengers of left over food and "ickes"

I have not noticed any harm either. I noticed one at night probably 7 months ago now everywhere i look i can see a leg hanging out.

I watched mine have a spawning event in the nano couple days ago.
About 20 visible of the largest ones all crawled up to the highest points and were spawning within a 30 minute window

Mine did the exact same thing the other night! Was really cool. At first I thought something was wrong becasue they ALL crawled out of the rock and then they all started puching themselves up on their legs and started spawning.

I have hundreds if not thousands of them in my 30g seahorse tank. They don't seem to harm anything. I can see their arms underneath all of my acans, just waiting for me to feed the acans. They don't interfere with the acans eating, they only eat what falls down below them. My flasher wrasse, seahorses and fire/cleaner shrimp on the other hand all make it a huge pain to feed acans.
