i was told that this was a slimer when i got it, but it has started to look like something else...i have never seen one branch in clusters like this... can anyone tell?????

it looks like a slimer to me, does it get extra slimey when you irritate it?

it does get pretty slimey, but i don't really want to go by that...i have never seen one branch out, especially in a cluster of branches..

looks like you have a start to what will be a really neat colony there. definately looks like a green slimer (one of my favorites for sure). :)

it will definately be the oddest one i have ever seen if it really is a slimer!!!

does anyone else have any thoughts as to whether this is a slimer or not???

Definitely appears to be a slimer. The cluster will look less clustered when all the branches extend out a few inches, as is typical with this coral. It could also be clustering due to lack of sufficient flow. How's the flow in the tank?

Hi Ron,
Looks like one to me. It is a quite typical growth form for this coral in a high flow and high light environment. I have several pictures of frags similar to yours. It can even form a table in very high flow. Under lower light and flow it can grow in single long thin branches and only fan out when it hits the surface of the water.

Regards,
Kevin
