I just barely noticed, on the tips of a few branches theres alittle white, and its like ony a tad bit, is it just building its branches?

Its a new frag, got it last saturday :D I find it hard to get pics, because its not happining to the tips that are facing the glass yet. there are polyps near it too, so I doubt its dieng

growth areas usually have tiny polyps on the frindges of the growth areas vs dieing where you would see the exposed holes of skeleton where polyps use to be. hope that helps.

you know it is a good thing you have this site and all of us as support system. i wish this had been avalable to me 9+ years ago when i first started it would have saved me a lot of headaches.

Gobie is right this sight makes it so much easier on the new reefer to ask questions and get advice.

SWT yes it sounds like you have some new growth. You may not see groth towards the glass depending on position of the coral and angle of light on it.

have you figured the name of your coral yet? it is sait some species can grow up to 1/8 of an inch a day.

okay are we talking a branching coral right? the only thing I've found is in the "Corals a quick reference guide" is on p21 and they call it a birds nest coral/ cauliflower coral yours might not even be this species of coral. the book says can be confused with Seriatopora Caliendrum or even Stylophora Pistilla. some times these corals are hard to determine exactally what species they truely are. try to find it on the web site here and let me know. if it is a birds it needs high flow. good luck
