tankgirl: That tank is beautiful:shock:, and all the pictures you provided are great! Can't wait till I have space for a tank that size :D.

Eliyah

Thanks, Eliyah!
The worst thing about it is that I can't reach the bottom - dumb! I have to use tongs, which makes me klutsy, so I'm always dropping corals and rocks and always scratching the acrylic.

How deep is the tank...or did you already tells us that?

I think I'd be willing to give up the ability to reach the bottom for the beauty of having a tank that size. ;)

how in the world did i miss this

EYE CANDY!!!!

looking better than ever, tg

i love that shot of your naso, i can never get mine to pay attention when the cam is on him, just when its on something else
i almost bought a anthias today, but didnt;) yours looks great

TD

Hi Eliyah, it's 30" deep, 30" wide, I forget how long, probably 72"? Thanks so much!!

Hey TD, Good to see you! The anthias has been a great fish. Yeah, the tangs are camera shy, point the cam at them and they all zoom off to the other side of the tank. But, they're better than the wrasse who seems to feel an urgent need to patrol the entire tank as fast as possible.

Hi Johnny!! Thanks! Someday when it grows up maybe it'll look like a smaller version of Mikes. :)

I was looking for some recent pics of Mike's tank, it's been a while (hint, hint) :) Anyway, realized I hadn't posted any pics of my tank for a year, figured a pic is in order, everything's really grown!

I finally got over the big hurdle, and decided to downsize to a smaller tank. I'll probably look around for a 120G, and take my time setting it up. The 260 is just about 3 years old, now.

OK TG I am bad lol, I just got the last of my larger colonies back in the tank a couple of weeks ago, so I am still moving things around a bit.

Man you tank looks awesome, some great growth. All that work has truly paid off!!!!!!!!

Mike

TG - Looks awesome! Have you changed anything (i.e. switched equipment, tried a new product, etc.) in the past year?

Great to see you!

Hi Mike,
Thanks! You're actually great - I know you're busy. But, I would like to see how your monster looks with all the corals in it. :)

Hi Nikki,
Thanks! :)
Nope, no new equipment or products. I did take most of the zoanthids out - just kept a couple of colonies that were pretty compact. They held a lot of detritus - & the colonies had gotten so big, I was trying to make it easier to clean the tank.

For years I've had a low alk issue - partially because the salt mix I use is low in alk (rel. to Ca), but even taking that into consideration, it was still running low. Strangely, it corrected itself about the same time I took out the zoanthids - ??

I took a few acros out (& some LR,too) to make more room, because it was getting pretty crowded with growth - also to make it easier to clean.

I started making my own Ca/alk 2 part additive (to augment the Ca reactor's output), using Randy's 'make at home' formula.

How about your tank, Nikki? Can you point me to the latest pics you've posted? Be nice to see how it's coming along!

 Stooooopppppp!!!!! enough already.... Tankgirl, that tank is awesome......I hope my new 180 looks half as good...very nice. :D

TG - I'm still having some severe algae issues & have been doing quite a bit of brain storming, and trouble shooting. It's been frustrating lately, to say the least. You can see a couple of clams from Barry I added in my thread in the Member's Showcase Forum.

Thanks, snobanker!!! Congrats on your new 180!!

Nikki, I found your thread and replied there on my idea for dealing with the algae. Saw your clams - cool :)

You guys can move this thread to the 'member tanks' forum, if you want. I think I started it before you had that forum.

Moved the thread for ya.

TG - can you repost the pic from yesterday? I wonder if it was lost when the site was broken into. All your other pics are there - I just checked the thread.
