I'm sorry to here that Mike! :(
How long did you have her? It comes with the hobby, but still shocks and upsets me to lose something!

Were any of your new corals attached to decent sized rocks? Could it have been a mini cycle? Three months is still a short time for a fish IMO. How long has your tank been up?

It is my understanding that cyanide will kill (if it is delayed) soon after the first time a fish eats. It is due to the sloughing of the intestinal and stomach lining. Mike I think had his fish for three months. I would guess, if it was in my tank, stress from another fish, feeding either deficent or over feeding leading to fatty liver disiese, or a infection of some sort. Possibly just died for no known reason. JMHO Steve

That statement above is one indication of cyanide caught fish, albeit not always the case. Fish will be fine for months, then just dead.

Microbubbles stuck in fishgills can also cause fish death...but I do not think it is the case here.

Hmm , I'm sorry for the loss :( Naso tangs are nice.

I see where your coming from Elmo, I went on a quest once for info about cyanide, and it seems that it still happens but is getting rarer and rarer. I hope it wasnt either and apoligize if it seemed I was knocking your post. I did not mean that at all. Steve

I to thought about a mini cycle but I have tested my water multiple times with 2 different kits all parameters are fine.

As far as other fish I don't think that they had caused it stress. I only have 2 osc. clowns, 2 green chromis, YWG, and a brown banded goby(that I wish was not in the tank).

This fish was very entertaining she always wanted attention. If I was looking at a coral it would swim up in front of it so that I could see her. She "ruined" a lot of pictures by putting a gray blur through them.

I was feding mysis, prime reef, formula one and two,, with nori a few times a week. All of which she was eating.

I hope the new pistol shrimp can fill some of the void left behind.

Thanks everyone for the support, and if anyone has any further thoughts please share them.
Mike
