The picture makes her legs look stubby. Our lab freely walks under her. lolol.
ROFL Charlie & Curt! Our dogs growing up always drank out of the toilets. I won't allow it for my dogs....just gives me the creeps. Even though the dogs do lick their rear ends :lol:. Our great dane drank out of the bathroom faucet. Penelope is happy drinking from the water bowl, kiddie pool, or puddles. You always know where she had a drink because there is usually a mess behind her.

The feeling of true fun, when you wake up at about 3:30 in the morning, and you hear that telltale sound of a dog slurping out of the toilet. AH, brings back memories from last nite

one of our neighbours here has 2 female pitbulls, they're the most nicest dogs i have ever met and so their little girl always climbs on the dogs to get a doggie ride :lol:.

I love mastiffs! Growing up we had a doberman, and then a lab, retriever, pitbull, boxer mix. Those were what most people call big dogs. My parents started with a rescue mastiff that was the "runt" of the litter. He was 110 lbs. He had horrible hip dysplasia which is tremendously depressing as a doggie parent. He only lived about 8 years before the dysplasia put him in horrible pain. The last mastiff was also a rescue pup, but closer to full size. He was about 175 lbs and thought he was a lap dog! He lived 11 years and just died this last year. My parents were crushed. They're taking a bit of a slobber break (no mastiffs for a few months) and are looking for a brindle mastiff. I'm 6'4" so mastiffs and danes are just about perfect size. I haven't been around danes much, but mastiffs are such sweet dogs! My wife is a bit afraid of the drool, though....
I loved going to a breeder's house who had the parents and 2 puppies. They had a swimming pool in a fenced off area that was completely the domain of the mastiffs. They also had these 16" hard plastic balls that the dogs would pounce on (launching them about 30-50 feet away) which they would then chase and pounce on again. It was about the cutest, funniest thing I've ever seen.
We made the mistake of getting one of those balls and taking my folks' dog to the park with it. It took about 20 minutes of dead-out running to get that dog back! Once he saw the ball, it was all over. Talk about one-track mind! Needless to say, we didn't do that again!
Now I want a mastiff again!

you know everytime i see these pics it makes me just wanna get out and get a puppy , my dog fence is empty and just ready for a dog but we can't right now

Josh - sorry about the loss.
Mastiffs have such great personalities. We are previous Great Dane owners, so I can vouch for their personalities, as well. Happy lap dogs always with a smile on their faces.....and a trailing wet floor from where they were drinking.....followed by the slingers after a good shake. Kind of like my mastiff.
