Kalk dosing sticky thread

i have noticed a ton of questions about dosing kalk..some of the questions were from myself, but mlore and more keep popping up..it would be cool to have a really good sticky thread about dosing Kalk and setting it up

Well heck I will jump in with how I do it.

I mix up a gallon of kalk at a time I use ro/di water and 2 tablespoons of kalk. Shake real good and wait till the next day for it to clear. When its clear I siphon it in to a juice bottle I made into a doser I just drilled a hole in the lid and attached airline tubing with an air valve on the end. Then I hang it above my tank and let it go at about a drip per second and I dose when the lights are off in the tank to help combat nightly ph swings .

OMG!! Don, you changed your avatar!!!! anyways, i am still working on a good setup for dripping kalk..i am going to need to do it asap when i return to Louisiana..i will be back here in Florida for a while..i need to get it to work on its own for around 2 weeks at a time..i will have to find out exactly how much water it is losing each day and go from there..
