Kenya tree dropping branches

My kenya tree coral has been mostly closed/droopy and unhappy looking for a few days now. Then, I actually saw a little branch drop from it - and there is at least one more laying on the bottom, too. I know that Kenya's frequently shed their branches to multiply - but is it normal for the coral to look wilted and closed during this time, or is something bothering it? All other corals look fine.

it is normal for the parent to look a bit weak just prior to branchlet dropping. No worries

I know I looked a bit wilted after I gave birth to my three frags.

Pretty soon John, you'll have enough Kenya frags to start trading them...after awhile I ended up giving the darn things away! (The Kenya frags - not my kids. LOL )

Well, unfortunately, the coral has problems. It never got better, and it developed a brown ring around the bottom and the brown discoloration gradually moved up the stalk. And, something keeps happening to the little baby branches when I glue them on - they keep disappearing after a day or two. I don't know if they are coming loose and floating away, or if something is eating them?

Glue doesn't work very well on soft corals. You could try putting a small glass bowl or cup into the tank with some sand and rubble in the bottom of the glass and letting the branchlets attach on their own.

If the stalk of the coral isn't disintegrating, don't give up hope.

or simply stitching them... its the single best and most assured way of securing soft corals. Clean plastic or nylon thread is all. Clip the thread a coupe weeks later if you like.
