So I purchased a used Korallin C1502 Calcium Reactor Package 2 that was supposedly used just for a few months (though I doubt this now).

My question and problem is that the regulator does not seat with a standard CO2 tank. I exchanged the tank for a full one, and the rubber seal on the regulator does not come into contact with anything on the tank, so it leaks. Is this regulator for a different kind of tank? If so, where do I find one? Is there maybe an adapter I can get to go between the tank and the regulator?

I have never used gas before (besides propane), so I am a bit nervous about the whole process.

I think the tank and regulator should be pretty standard, do you have any pictures? We used to run a 1502 and exchanged CO2 bottles several times and never changed regulators. We did add a bubble counter to the regulator to fine tune the system. If you can get it running it is a great reactor.

Did the CO2 tank come with a plastic washer that you can insert? CO2 regulators and tanks are very standard. I would put in the plastic washer that came with the tank and that should fix it. If you don't have it I have some at work that I could grab.

Pics would be helpful though

Here are some photos.

The pastic washer did not work either, still did not seal it. I check the reviews of this regulator (Deluxe) on Marine Depot, and the reviews were not good. It seemed to have this exact problem.

I think I am going to try and find a rubber washer and see if that helps. Otherwise it looks like I have to buy a new regulator. It appears I am better off buying a AquaticLife Regulator if that is the route I have to take.

I am sure glad I did not pay a full price for this set up.

You might want to try some tefalon tape on the threads? May be a cheap fix. A roll would cost u a buck or so. White color is for gas. Will be in the plumbing department at lowes or wherever, or you can gwet at airgas or praxair if that is more convenient (although their hours aren't as good)

Another option is to take the regulator into praxair or airgas when you get a tank swap (refill) and tell them what the problem is. They should be able to help you get it straightened out

Looks like a UK standard for CO2 and not CGA320 like the tank. Central welding has an adapter.

CGA 320 requires a washer to seal and the regulator pictured has an O ring. Does it fit without a washer?

The threads do not seal so Teflon tape is not particularly useful.

There you go. Sounds like the solution to me
