Here is my tank at about 6 weeks old. The rock came with phenomenal corraline algea growth and I have been careful with Ca/Alk to keep it through cycling. It is already starting to spot up the back glass. It also came with a ton of tiny feather worms that survived the 3 week cycle.

The tank is 20h with 150w MH. It has an Aqua-C remora/ AC500 cheato refugium and Current USA chiller.

My first inhabitants are 3 hermits, 5 nassarius snails, 5 astro snails, 2 peppermint shrimp, 1 large featherworm and 1 blood shrimp.

My first corals are PomPom Xenia, Frogspawn, Fungia, Riccordia and some mushrooms.

So Far so good.

I am working on figuring out how to get high quality RAW images into something that can be posted without losing to much quality. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am using a Nikon D-70 w/macro 105mm lens and post processing w/ Iview.

Howdy!

Your tank looks great! Quick note to let everyone know that we recently received another 444 lbs of the same Live Rock - some of the best looking, totally cured I have seen in quite awhile ($6.99/lb).

I really like my nassarius snails. I think it is so cool the way they magically appear moments after any food hits the tank. Upon seeing Tongan nassarius snails I just had to get a few. Here is the size difference for any people like me who have never seen it before. I hope I didn't scare the smaller ones.

 On a sad note my beautiful feather worm did not survive having frogspawn dropped on it. I had been trying to boil some aiptasia. Tonight I removed the tube since the hermit gnawing confirmed my suspicion that it had not survived. Unfortunately the aiptasia has.

Here is my very swift camera shy bloodshrimp. Miss Scarlet finally came out of her favorite lookout to steal some food dropped for the bubble coral. Her preferred place in the tank is peeking over the rocks from the backside of the tank.

Sarge gets a fashionable new shell

Perhaps he was only killing things and knocking over frags because he was feeling crowded and unfashionable. I thought this shell was cool and he might grow into it in a few months. To my surprise he moved in before it had been in the tank an hour. Thanks to two part expoxy at least he can't keep knocking things over. His before shot is a few posts up

:D Checkout the baby onyx clowns I just got from Ilham (Elmo18). They are so tiny and cute. I have them in a quart jar nursury held in place with a magfloat. They are so small I did not want to release them until I had checked with Ilham to make sure nothing in the tank could pose a threat to them.

Hi Shannon!

Nice! What kinds of MaxiJet pumps are they? They will be fine, unless you have a LOT of flow in there. They will find a place near the bottom :)

Best,
Ilham
