Shannon - tank is looking excellent. I still can't get over that rock and how nice it looks. Your corals are looking stellar - that blueish/green ricordia really caught my eye.. keep up the great work.

I bought the nicest rock I could find and kept up my CA/ALK during the cycling in an attempt to keep and/or improve the color. It worked. I figured I only had one chance at choosing rock and I looked long and hard at what everbody had to make that decision. At the PSAS meeting I got a ric with purple flesh and lime green polyps. Photography will have to wait until it is attached to rubble for placement.
I bet you're looking forward to letting the baby ONYX clowns run free. what are your plans for an anemone home for them?

I keep switching the nursery out every few days. The one that is out of the tank gets drilled for more holes and they get more flow to play in. I keep them in because I knew I had a hydor koralia on order that would jump the flow from 160gph minus whatever the hydor flow takes to 600 gph. I just installed it last night. WOW I like it and so do many of the corals. It has a nice difuse flow that takes care of some dead spots. More flow has improved gunk collection by the skimmer in just one night.

I don't have anemone plans as they sound like a PITA and have high mortality in captivity. The clowns are welcome to host in the xenia or the frogspawn but their nursury behavior leads me to believe that they may host the magfloat. Yup-they cuddle up to it every night.
Also.. I can't beleive this is only like the what, the 10th week. boy - you are doing something right. great work and keep those pics coming b/c they are fun!

So far so good. It may be hard to give my hubby back some of his corals for the AP12 he has cycling at work.

I will keep the pics coming. It stretches my photography skills because it is so very different from people photography.

If you don't get that reference you need to see Little Shop of Horrors:lol:

Here is some Xenia about to walk off its fragmount. It was centered on the fragmount on Sat when the hubby and I got it at the PSAS meeting. Good thing I like it as it may take over.

Well I wasn't kidding about the clowns hosting the magfloat. A couple of days ago I turned the nursery jar sideways so they would have access to the whole tank. They have, in moments of great braveness and with use of the buddy system, explored as far as 5 inches from the mouth of the jar. I think I will look for a smaller less obtrusive acrylic jar for current protection as they sleep. Its a big mean world when you are only 4 months old so I'm glad they have a place they feel safe.

Thanks Brady

Here are night pics of the cynarina. Wow what a difference from daytime. I didn't think the tenticles could get much fuller and put some Reefroids in the tank while it was in feeding mode. Surprise - they got bigger - and here is what it looked like after food hit the water. Nothing like a little insomnia to help discover new reef details.

Really nice tank and photolog! :D

Thanks for posting. I love your little fish. Have you named them yet?

your coral is totally awesome doodette !!! :).

I loved it the minute I layed eyes on it at Extreme Corals but it was $120.00 and I just couldn't go that price. About 3 weeks later they send an email about a 40% off sale. It was still there and in my shopping cart at 1/2 the speed of light.

Got Crabs??

  GOT CRABS:?:

Yes, as a matter of fact I do like photographing my clean up crew. Here are yet a few more hermit crabs plus some beginner efforts at photoshop.

Another photoshop special. It might look nice on cardstock for those few occasions that I don't use email:lol:
