We found these LED light kits at nanotuners.com, but does anybody know if the LED light is actually beneficial for growing corals? I would think so, based on the recent LED lighting for aquariums stuff I've seen, but how many little 1 watters would you need before they actually do anything? It'd be cool for our new 29g biocube to do these, because you could obviously fit quite a few in the lid. What do you guys know/think about it??

Hmm, interesting....
Anybody else have something to add?
In other news, we just put water in our biocube! Yay!

i have the elos e-lite (all LED) and my corals seem to love it. i have magenta and green stylophora, pink pocillopora, and a variety of montis. they are growing great and have super bright coloration.

they use a mix of white and blue LEDs. you might model your light after the elos light.

btw, i noticed there are a few elos lights for sale on reef central.

Go here, this guy can tell you everything you need to know about LED lighting. But as far as intensity need for coral growth, yes they are right up there with MH and T5 as far as PAR goes, but more energy efficient. It seems that LED is becoming the way to go for nano reefers because of cost and size. For well under a hundred bucks you can DIY it and get amazing results and the bulbs and drivers are so small they are very easy to conceal within the hood. I am no expert so go here for all the info you need.
