Did you buy them already? That would be great so then you can be the guinea pig for the rest of us :badgrin::badgrin:. However I don't think they will be as bright as the PowerBrites which uses 1w LEDS. I can't find any info on how many watts these are. Do you know?

no not yet..
The ICE CAP rep is gonna be at the PSAS frag swap and conduct a group buy type thingy for us..
(I hope there will be some discounts)

They are billed as MoonLights. I don't think they are meant to replace actinics.
On the marine depot website the second guy to give a review, mentioned something about seeing his inverts at night. I'm assuming it was after all the other lights were out.

That's what I thought also. The ones from fosterandsmith is specific for actinics.

Yes I am looking to replace the T-5's with something darker for when the MH's are off. and also something for when they are on.

Well, If you replace the T5s with something less intense then they will just get washed out by the MHs during the day. Actinic supplements and moonlights are two different things. You might have to keep your T5s for supplementation and just add the led moonlights for night view.

Honestly,
kind of expensive for just night viewing :)

Yea I am gonna mod my hood soon so I will be moving the T-5 reflectors and MH reflectors up a bit..
I will have room now for these also..

well I had a friend come over this weekend with a UV led flashlight..
It was AMAZING some of the colors I didn't know were even there..
My common pink chalice is actually like a rainbow under these lights..
So I wanna pick up some leds for these colors to pop out..

Not true, Ive seen these LED strips in action and you can tell a difference if they are off or on when the MHs are running.

LunarLites are highly efficient and very reliable but we know the reason you’ll want them is what they will do to the appearance of the corals. They are designed to excite the green fluorescing proteins in corals. They particularly bring out yellows, oranges, and greens. If you think your corals look good under actinics, you haven’t seen anything yet! Mushrooms, zoanthids, Ricordea, and most any fleshly large polyp stony corals look amazing under the LED’s.

This isnt just hype. Ive seen it
Ya, they arent as bright as T-5s but they do add blue during the day.
Ice Cap has a self contained strip and a retro fit kit designed to fit into T-5 end caps.

I have MHs, T-5s and VHOs. These are the first LED lights Ive ever considered for my tanks as long as Ive been in the hobby. I'm impressed. One thing that also helps me with the decision to buy them is IceCap's reputation for amazing customer service. Some of the best in the reef lighting industry.

Thanks for the offer Dolphin but these exact ones are the one's in question.
I really wish i could find a side by side comparison with T-5's and LEDs' with and without MH on..
