I've been into photography for a long time and reefing for a very short time, but am excited to combine the two. I finally got around to playing with some photography techniques last night, and have come to the sad conclusion that I need a macro lens. So...

What lenses are you using well, and on what cameras? What focal lengths do you like (and on which cameras?)

I've got a Canon 20D and a Panasonic Lumix GF1. I don't have a macro for either body.

I think I'd slightly prefer to shoot with the Lumix (which has become my favorite camera for most things these days, and which I've been thinking about outfitting for diving anyhow), but unfortunately a macro for it is awfully darned spendy (like $900 spendy; ironically I sold another Lumix lens to buy my tank). I actually got some decent pics from it last night by using my 14mm f2.5 with a 3X macro filter held in front of it. But it's not ideal.

I've also got a Canon SD800 point & shoot which has actually been a good little diving camera for me, and since it's the only thing I have that really does macro at the moment, I guess I'll give it a try on the tank, too...

Also, do you use a flash? I am a rarity in diving in that I shoot 90% natural light even underwater, so my inclination is to shoot my tank the same way. Already discovering the challenges of LED lighting...

Thoughts? What are your favorite lenses/combos?
