My favorite Clams

I picked these up in that Vietnam Clam buy last year. When is the next one? I'd like to get another Teardrop.

I want to bite on the whole lighting thing. I know the 6500k growth thing with corals, how about clams. I'm about to go 20,000 from 10,000. What do you think it will do to the clams????

You loose light intensity when going from 10k to 20K. Depending on how deep they are you may have problems. They will look nice under the 20k but you dont want to starve them. I thought about this for awhile and decided just to add vho suppliment instead, but I have 3 way down on the bottom and 2 half way up.

My two

I got the max from a club member that was breaking down his tank about 6 mo ago.the other I've had for maybe a year. Reggie

Ok, here's a maxima I got a couple of years ago at MACNA when it was held in DFW. One shot is from the side and one from overhead. And remember, it's all about the clams so don't make fun of my photograhy or flatworms. :(

Welcome to Reef Frontiers!! Wow! Great clam....and those zoos....very high on the drool factor. :)

Nice! I love these clams. Here is a shot from today of my Crocea from earlier in this thread and my Maxima that i have had for about 6 weeks or so

Clams pretty much stay in one spot but can move very little... nothing too far... Some jump from the rocks as well..

My squamosa is a joke compared to all of yours but I've kept it alive for almost half a year. (knock on wood) =) Its about 5 inches and I feed live DT's twice a week. Its under halides and seems to be happy in the sand bed.
