What would be the benefits of having a Tridachia crispata (Lettuce Nudibranch) in my tank?? I've read they are great for eating nusiance hair algae. Also, what are the cons to this guy??? Thanks in advance!

They're great for hair algae. Just make sure all intakes are screened off and I don't mean the kind that come with powerheads. You will need a fine mesh screen. I had one and it fell victim to my pump. I think they're made out of marmalade or something.

I'm not sure on this, so check with your LFS, but I think hair algae may be about all they eat, so if you don't have a good supply of the stuff the nudi will soon starve. Again, this is what I remember, but my forgetter is a lot better than my rememberer most days!

I have had two of these for a few weeks and they are visibly growing. I see them in the hair algae "fields", but do not hang out there like you might expect. Watching closely, I do not see the hair algae being eaten, just mouthed. I suspect that they (at least these) are eating microalgae just like an Astrea snail etc....Yes, watch out for the intake, they seem to like the sponge I have covering it.

I picked up a lettuce nudi today and he's going to town on the algae. Cool looking little creatures... Mine is a bluish green color. :)
