Looking for advice on how to best acclimate my tank to new lights. Same watts and kelvin rating, just replacing 9 mo old bulbs with fresh ones. Currently I cut my photo period down from 9hrs to 6hrs and added some eggcrate above the tank. I do not really have the capability to raise/lower my halides.

Specifically, my question is, how long to leave the eggcrate and how to scale the photoperiod back up?

Thx for the help,
Mat

Mat, I've never done anything special for new bulbs except celebrate. 2 days of crates and the lessened hours should be fine. To be sure, pull the crates today, and raise the photo period next. Hope all is great!
