Gabriela, did your son go to bed early tonight? I know how you like to hit that bottle as soon as he goes to sleep:razz: . I mean WOW, that was a freaky post, your even starting to scare me!

and if the fishes die, you can just make that sticky rice,a little bit of nori and a clown or two and blua la ... sushi :D
it can be done, just look at the picture

FWIW - and bear in mind I am a real idiot when it comes to lighting - I'm not even sure how to tell what the heck kind of ballast I run - I did replace 2 of my 400W bulbs with the Geisemann 13K bulbs. They have a bit of a yellowish look to me but then I like a blue look - however............. my corals to seem to really like it and have had better color start to show on a couple of my SPS.
I have ordered some actinic pc's to supplement and make it more "pretty" to my eye.

Ruth

What temp of bulb were you running before the 13Ks Ruth? Also how long have you had them? I ask because they will change color slightly as they "burn in".

I want to go fishing!!! *looks around to see if that pesty Jiddy is around to try to spoil the fun*

Hey Ken I was running 15K coralvue before I changed. The really funny thing that happened when I changed bulbs is that all of the coraline algea that was growing on my glass, overflow and powerheads either turned green or just fell or faded off. Anything on the glass turned green and anything on a black or colored surface just disappeared (or Jiddy came and just helped himself). My live rocks are fine and still covered and it's still purple. The only other thing that I did was about 2 weeks before I changed the bulbs I hooked up my calcium reactor. From what I have read from from what little of that that I understood these bulbs have a lot more par etc. than the coralvue bulbs and so I just chalked it up to the new bulbs. It is starting to come back a little bit on my glass but not much - it's been 3 weeks since I changed the bulbs.
Oh and anytime you want to come up and go fishing I can hook you up!

Thanks for the input, the par ratings of the bulbs I runnibg now, an the ones I'm getting is very similar, so I am hoping the change will have minimal effect. The coraline does seem to like lower light levels of the tank. I had a buch of coraline on my fuge lighted by a little 50/50 bulb from coralvue, a 15 watter if I remember right.

Carefull what ya say, I love fishing, and I can imagine it is pretty good up there. I leave next friday for a 4-5 day trip to one of my favorite rivers, the Klickitat here in WA.

There is a fly in only lake just north of British Columbia in the Northwest Territories called Trout Lake and it is the most amazing fishing I have ever done. Large (25-30lb) Jacks and Pickerels (sp) (10-20lbs) that just about jump onto your hook - good old 5 of diamonds works every time. I am told that the Lake trout are amazing as well but when I was there they had not come up to the top yet and we didn't have any downriggers to go after them.

*Just sitting here imagining it all*

I am pretty good at driliing acrylic and putting pvc together.
