Hello everyone,

I'm looking for some information on what lighting system to go for. I have a 200 gallon tank that is 36" tall and I would like to use LED's. if you have a link to any specific products or just know the name and type of the light will you put a message in here for me and anyone else looking for new lights.

some additional information:

60" wide, 21" deep, 36" tall
200 gallon tank
Initially it will be FOWLR and after being established for a few months I will convert to a reef tank... Not sure what type of coral/inverts I will be using.

thanks for the input

currently have:
60 gallon FOWLR
30 gallon Quarantine tank

contact oceans by design best bang for your buck and they will design to your tanks needs. best on the market garanteed if u find better for this price ill buy them for YOU!!

thanks for the words of wisdom Senji. Any estimate on how much I should expect to spend before I go down and talk to them?

My guess is 4 of the 4 cluster fixtures. Maybe 4 of ther 6 cluster

Just a guess but they go for 269 for the 4 cluster
And 369 I believe for the 6 cluster

You may be able to get away with three of the 6's.
Then again mojo would be the one to set you straight. Good luck.
As senji said these guys are bang for your buck, local and down right know what their talking about. You won't be dissappointed

Just for a ball park educated estimate.

You will be looking at about a grand!!!
Imo with your tank being so tall, Leds will be the most efficient, cost effective way to light your tank and have your corals grow well

My vote, contact OBD

It's a custom acrylic tank made by Eric at aquarium concepts as for what to go with for light I'm not familiar with those acronyms and I would like a basic set up that works well enough for a reef and maybe something I can add on to in the future when I start to convert to a reef from fowlr

contact the people at oceans by design they are a sponsor here and located in tuckwilla.

If im correct, the oceans by design(obd) lights cover a little more than 2 foot. So 3 of them should work. Id go with their lights as well. Their local, their sponsors, price is great, can be used in conjunction with a controller for some of the same effects as the radions, mojo and the crew are always trying to help. I could go on, but i wont. I would definately talk to them before purchasing. If your into do it yourself, you can talk to the guys at rapid led.
