Lighting Question

I run my 2 MH and my actinic's together, MH 9hrs and actinics 11hrs. Does the actinics need to run during the day time with the MH, is it okay to just run the MH during the day and the actinics one hr before and one hr after the MH go off. The extra watts that the actinics give off make a differents.

They are 250w MH 20K on a 120.

Just wondering what others are doing. I turned them off today and I like the look better. Any info would help thanks.

Actinics are really only for your personal viewing pleasure so they don't need to be on during the day with your MH's. Infact, some people don't even use actinic supplementation at all as it isn't necessary

The actinics are nice to balance the yellow color of the 10k bulbs. By running 10k you can speed up the growth of some corals.

I was thinking to replace the 20k with 10k, I think the look is nicer to me anyway's. Thanks for the info.
