liquid calcium - ionic imbalance

hello !

I have read many times < don’t use liquid calcium for long period because you will have ionic imbalance >
liquid calcium is calcium chloride ok ?
Dow’s peladow is calcium chloride ( anhydrous ) ok ?
Dow’s flake is calcium chloride also ( dehydrated ) ok ?

I need your help to understand why the liquid calcium is not good idea for long period but the others is ok

This is true BUT ONLY if you never do water changes. If you do water changes on a regular basis you can use any of the reef safe ca chloride additives.

Any Calcium Chloride or Calcium Sulfate sup, be it dry or liquid, is going to cause an ionic imbalance in time if there are no WC, as they are adding Chloride and Sulfate, which do not get used up and just rise.

The only sup's one can use where this does not take place is Kalk (Calcium Hydroxide) and Calcium reactors for the most part. The issue is that at times some systems have to add Calcium Chloride or Calcium Sulfate sups' as the Calcium demand is high and/or one needs to balance out what they need in terms of Alk and Calcium demads.

No, it is fine. Many German's use this method and is called "The Balling Method"
