I'm putting a sump on my BC29 & the refugium compartment is 15" x 9" how much rock rubble do I need?

I guess it all depends what you are using the rubble for. If only for biolgical purposes, you might want to skip it and just put all the rock you want to use in the tank. That will just be one more area you would have to keep clean as the rock sheds and detritus builds up in there. Let us know your plans for the rubble. :)

Mostly for copipods and amphipods to breed. I have about 30lbs of rock in the display. P.S. I will have live sand in fuge compartment also.

I agree with Sid. I had like 2 rocks in my sump and when I removed then to see what was underneath I couldn't believe it. One huge detritus pile!. Wish I still had the picture of what was removed. I lost it on my pc and then it was posted on a thread that was so old that it's now "X" out. If I can somehow get it I will post it. Sometimes, sumps don't have enough flow passing through to remove the detritus so it accumilates over time. :)

I use rubble in my fuge under my ATS and sand bed. I do so because it is a great place for sponges and the like to grow and thrive. At least this is my experience.
