I just bought a good amount of lr and have it in a big rubbermaid container with a filter and heater all of the rock doesn't fit and a couple pieces are sticking out about two inches out of the water I have the lid on I am sure. It is staying moist but worried about some of it dying will it. be ok to put in my tank in a couple days?

You'll be find for a couple days. But if you are really worried about it just re-arrange the rock every day so it's diffrent piece sticking out for a short period of time.
