Does anyone know of a local source for the 1.5" split ring fittings for the AM3K pumps? In particular I am looking for the 90 degree fitting to go into the pump.

Thanks,
-Reed

You can use the standard split fitting and glue a section of PVC directly into the fitting and add a 90 deg pvc elbow. Are you looking for one fitting or two.If you need only one I have an extra one and you can have it for free.Let me know.

Anthony,

Thanks for the offer. I have a very tight corner to make and think that I need to come off the pump with a 90 degree bend. I have used the method you suggest in the past, but I don't think I have the room now.

I wish you were on the West Coast. It's the shipping that kills me on these things. The parts are realtively cheap (or free from nice folks like you).

You can make the turn very easily if you use a short piece of 1 1/2"PVC about 3 " long. When the pieces are glued and assembled the PVC elbow will meet up exactly at the coupling and will be the shortest way possible. The offer still stands and standard snail mail is OK.

PVC street elbow will make a tighter turn than using the short length of pipe. Check Home Depot.

Good call Gudwyn! I suppose that would be just as tight as a piece that was made as a 90. You still trying to figure all that out Reed?

Thanks for the replies.

Tom, I got it all figured out. Anthony hooked me up with one and I am able to set the pump in a bit better location to use a 45 angle instead of a 90. I try not to use the 90s wherever possible.

We'll see once the new canopy is done & I am able to hook the thing back up again. My corals are going through withdrawal on the flow front.
