Hey All,

I'm on travel and have a few days left in Bellevue. I was hoping to find a good local fish store that i could visit and meander around for an afternoon. Anyone have any recommendations for one near the factoria shopping center area?

Also, looking for some good and interesting food in the area. My friend recommended the "What the Pho" place in northern Bellevue and it turned out great. I think i ended up having the beef, tendons, and eye balls soup. Just wondering if anyone new of any other good places to try while i'm here.

Hopefully it's ok to post non aquarium related things here...

Looking for Good Food and Fish Stores

I guess i should clarify that I'm in Bellevue, WA.

Also, the two questions aren't linked. I'm not looking to buy aquarium fish as food lol. Just looking to go bum around some aquarium shops to dream about new peices of equipment or fish. Then maybe a stop for food somewhere after. Didn't want anyone thinking my display tank was really some odd "hanibal" experiment lol. Just woke up with no breakfast and then started taking my programming training, so the brain hasn't totally started functioning yet lol:ranger:.

I would imagine my fish wouldn't taste all that good to begin with....... :der:

Saltwater City is in Bellevue, but while you are here, I would recommend to take a 10 min drive south to Renton (Exit 7) and visit Barrer Reef.

Saltwater City
Barrier Reef (Renton exit 7)
Blue Sierra (Renton exit 2/3)
Denny's Pet World (Kirkland - north of Bellevue)

If you want to brave the 520 or 90 you can go to Red C Aquarium in Shoreline.

It depends what you want, Denny's and Blue Sierra are larger and freshwater first with saltwater as less of a focus (both are pet stores with other animals too). Barrier seems corals first and fish second, they have a lot of nice equipment too. Red C has a larger selection of saltwater fish and a great variety of corals.

International district if you want to travel to Seattle. Like a small Chinatown good touristy stuff. Places to eat :jade garden, Vietnamese :tamarind tree. On James and 5th small saltwater shop called QT aquariums.

Thanks for the suggestions on the fish stores. I stopped by Barrier after class today and was pretty impressed. Im in the process of collecting the necessary equipment to get my tank water pure enough for hard coral and was impressed by their online selection. Thankfully I only brought a single carry on bag, which is full, otherwise i think i'd dump a whole paycheck on toys for my tank and bring them back with me lol.

Also, thanks Rob, I love Thai food and will give that place a try tomorrow for dinner.
