I've got a fish only tank and have had one for the last 6 years. During that time I've only had shop lights for my lighting. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what lighting may bring out a bit more color on my fish and add a little color to my live rock. Thanks

IMO, I'd get a set of T5's for that tank, with individual reflectors they should work well.

Thanks for the feedback so far you guys. Where are good places to get the t5's? Internet, local shops...

Ebay

agree with last post, look on here or craigs list, if all fails, try ebay.
I hear Chinese fixtures have made huge improvements in the past 2 years. they cost 1/3 less. Some people swear by them.

also, will this tank graduate to a reef tank one day?

A reef tank one day for sure, or maybe just a seperate one. I've gone back and forth on getting a reef tank for years now. I'm surprised that I haven't done it yet. So do these lights need ballasts, or are they like those helios that once the bulb burns out you just toss em?

Thanks for the feeback you guys. What kind of T5's are they. I feel like there are bunch of different ones. Where can I find the lower kelvin. Thanks
