Does anyone know where to find starfire glass in the Seattle area?
I found a place online that has 3/8" for $12 a sq. ft. and 1/2" for $15 a sq. ft.
But the shipping would kill the deal.

Hey Marty,
I would go on the PSAS site and ask Luke (Liveforphysics), he has a couple of sources in this area.

Susie :)

I would also say call your local glass shops. They should be able to order it in, and if you can find the major distributor in your area it should not be to bad.

I got a quote from:
Glass By Lund
Address: 9433 4th St NE # 101, Lake Stevens, WA 98258
Phone: (425) 334-5863

The starphire was like 20% more, if I remember right.

What thickness and did you get a sq. ft. cost?

I've called a couple in my area that I usually deal with and unless it is a larger order, they didn't want to be bothered with it.
So I'm just looking for people that had already bought from a shop and what was the cost per sq. ft

I've a couple leads that I have to check on first.
Then I need to figure out if it is what I want to do, make the tank myself, buy a premade one, or just reuse the old one. The old one is 18 years old.

Finn I don't have any thing to offer just want to tag along and find what out what you learn. I am sitting with a 150 gallon tank that i would love to turn into a 3-400 gallon tank..

I did contact them first. I have a Glasscages 240 gallon tank and love it.
It's the shipping that would kill this deal.

Hey finn any updates on this... as I am also in the need of some glass. What is the longest piece of glass that they make? Any one know?

I'm going to bump this one again.
I'm looking for a source for 3/8" starfire or low iron glass in the Seattle to Olympia area.
I have contacted Larson Glass, but I'm wondering if anyone has another lead.

I would try city glass in tacoma, I recall talking to them a while back when I was looking at building my own tank and IIRC they could get it.

Cardinal Glass is a local glass Manuf. They are located in Chehalis (sp). I did some const work there. Maybe they could help.
