I'll get you a pic of the Boomermobile at MACNA :) 2011 Dodge Charger RT (souped up), Hemi-V8, 16 spark plugs, +400 HP, TS 160 mph, 1/4 mid 13's, 0-60 mph 5 sec.

That's a nice looking car you have! Saw the picture of it in your album! Very nice!! :)

I read on your facebook page that you were big into cars back in your day!!! That's pretty sick! You get cooler every day . The fastest car I've ever owned was a small little 4 door 1993 Mitsubishi Lancer....:doubt:

Oh yea, but it was a JDM Lancer Evolution I with the Evo III motor and body upgrades on it :D
Not sure if you knew about the cars back then, but in the early 90's, the car came stock with just a small 4 cyl inline 4G63 turbo motor and AWD, but was a very light weight car. They were popular rally cars for a while. Can't remember the 1/4 mile times on these things, but 0-60 was done in 4.9 sec on stock boost (9lbs) and they had 270hp @ about 6200 rpms which was pretty good numbers for a car in the early 90's. They were electronically limited at 112 mph in Japan so a computer upgrade was needed to bypass that. I had a few bell's and whistles that bypassed all of that, turbo and intercooler upgrade, cusco diff to really lock up all four tires and so on. Too bad our track was only legalized for the 1/8th when I had it and the dyno they had here could only test fwd or rwd. Now that I sold the car to a close buddy who thought he could pop the clutch coming through a corner and took out part of a building, I will never know what the car really produced as they finally have a proper dyno here now and the Bahamian government along with the Chinese are currently building a new 1/4 mile track. Go figure. I'd imagine with the upgrades and running the car daily on 16lbs of boost (almost double that of stock) I'd imagine I cleared the 300 hp range easily. For an old car (1993) it was in really good shape. Here are 2 shots of it when I had it. :)

And back then they didn't have car alarms either. Notice the chain link fence and razorwire...lol

Haha! You are making me feel old!!! That picture was taken about 4 years ago! That fence you see was around a community park to help keep out the wild kids!. I just took the picture there. LOL! Car alarms...Man, my cars are always well equipped. If you know anything about alarms, I'm sure you have heard of Viper alarms and Clifford alarms. If so, we are the authorized dealers for Directed Electronics here in the Bahamas. Have been for the past 13 years so anything from Viper, Rattler, Hornet, Avital, Clifford etc for seurity and Orion, Precision Power, ADS, Polk Audio etc all fall under Directed which we are the dealers for. Man, don't get me started on car audio! Don't want to derail this thread anymore than it is. :p

Nice wheels you had back then Krish. Can't remember the 1/4 mile times That would be mid 13's like 13.5.

That is not my car but one like mine. The mags on mine are different.

ADS, Polk Audio etc ... audio! Don't want to derail this thread anymore than it is.

Don't get me started on this or I will have to give you lessons in audio systems like chemsitry :D I'm a avoid Audiophile and own a Threshold System. Do you know who Threshold Audio is ;) Just my tone-arms (2), no cartridges are $500 ea. Rodger, Miller & Kreisel and Braun speakers, Luxman turntable, with a PSE and Phillips additional P-amps, plus a Nakamichi deck, Mitsubishi FM Tuner, Kenwood Audio Lab Scope and a Dahlquist Low Pass filter = ~ $12,000.00. ADS and Polk is good ****. I almost bought a ADS amp and AEI pre-amp. My car is Alpine-ed.

Here yah go guys

Man you get your hands in everything!!. No-one can say Boomer didn't live a full life! :) That is a nice setup you have there!!! ADS and Polk audio...You are right! They are good stuffp! I had ADS components in my integra that ran about $500 a pair and were the cleanest sounding mids I have ever owned! Directed Electronics shut down all ADS mobile audio and only concentrate on home audio for that line now. As for Polk audio, Directed owns them, but doesn't run their line. The previous owner still manages and runs Polk Audio so in essense, DEI just collects LOL. Nacamichi is also some crazy stuff!! I watched a client of ours go from about about 4th place on his first run because he wanted to use a Jensen deck for whatever reason to first place in SQ (sound quality) at a Stereo show here just by swapping his deck to a nac which I told him to use in the first place! They are just so clean! I don't get much into the home audio side of it all. I deal mostly with mobile audio and security. Home audio requires you to get in hot attics and run wires so I said screw that and have two other guys that do those jobs :p. When we aren't consumed with work with the various car dealers here, by appointment, we get into some custom installs like fiberglass work and so forth.

Here's a shot at some of what I did in my Integra. Started that morning and finished it that same day. Just something simple I did one day so that customers can get an idea of the work we do and also an opportunity to hear what an in-expensive system sounds like if done properly.

And why not the car! This was a 1995. Did a ton of work to this one as well and is also JDM so a rhd. :)

Is the next MACNA in Texas?? If so, I have to try and make it out to that one. I think it is south enough to get my wife to fly there LOL

Very nice car. I have seen that carbon fiber CAI before, didn't they go out of business recently. I see it has a VS air inlet on the filter, only way to go.

Yes, Dallas Texas

This is where you guys are hiding out.
I want to thank Boomer for his warm welcome and for introducing me to Mojo.
I had a blast
With 2 skimmer nuts, we must have talk our hearts out;)
Looking forward to being there next year.

Sounds good!! Might have to try and make it out to that one! It's close enough to the Bahamas. On the intake, there are a few companies out there making different carbon fiber intakes and this one came from a company called memoryfab, but last I checked their site they were more of a rim/wheel buisness. This version is called the "whale penis" style because of the huge flare and also, there are other companies out there making plastic versions of this style as well. I loved it. You could run your car all day and still rest your hand on a cool intake. :)

But that big flare on the carbon fiber tube is not a good idea, as it slows down the air velocity. That VS on the air cleaner increases it only to have the flare slow it back down. So, it is almost self defeating. It does not make any difference what the tube is made of, as the mass air flow is so fast there is not heat exchange. I do not want to tell you this but that unit is also self defeating on the laws of CAI. That is not a cold air intake as there is no cold air intake on it and has no CAI box or heat shield. It is only picking up under the hood very heated air and the exhaust manifold is right there to make it worse. Looking at that engine and how it sits all the hot header/manifold air is going right to the "CAI".

This is a real CID, well almost a real CAI, as the air is coming from the fender wells and not a tube feeding if from the front grill or under the bumper, a TRUE CAI.

Lol! You called it a CAI. I never said that.:p. It's a short ram. CAI's aren't good here because of flooding and to top it off, as you can see my car is very low. Most factory made CAI's for imports feed very low in the front bumper close to the road like AEM's cai which can't work here. As for the design, this one is supposed to be more of an intake designed to increase torque rather than horsepower. I can tell you I tried an Injen short ram intake and a mugen closed box intake which worked as a heat shield and the CF intake to me seemed to give me the best performance especially when I set my AFC neo up to accommodate and adjust my air/fuel ratio. The computer was chipped and the neo re-adjusted the fuel curve and I was happy with it plus it was sexy as hell!!! :D

I almost bought an Injen but Airaid is the way to go. I liked the polished Al Injen, looked really cool but no box. My car will be chipped also with a Diablo.

It's a short ram

It is not even a short ram they just call it that like they all call them CAI. Sucking air into an air cleaner under a hood is no ram air:) That's why the word RAM is used, Ram Air Mount. I call it what you kids call it ..CIA. So, you kids do not get confused :D

plus it was sexy as hell!!! :D

Hum, that was the real reason just like my original wanting of a Injen

This is RAM> I think you kids call it a "hood scoop"

So is this on the famous Thunderbolt, 11 sec street car back in the days. Why it is missing two headlights.

Missing headlights to force cool air directly into the intake:). I know the trans am at one point came with an optional ram air induction system with the intake sitting right under the hood scoop. My buddy converted his 1995 trans am to the ram air system buying the hood etc when his didn't come with it from the factory. I guess CAI and short ram are thrown around loosely as both my Injen and CF intake were advertised as short rams.

On the Injen intake, I bought it initially because of the polished pipe. Looked really nice, but wasn't as nice as the CF one :D. On my old chevy S-10 SS I had the Airaid intake with a heat shield I fabricated myself because back then only the K&N's FIPK2 came with the heat shield and when I went to order my intake, they didn't have the FIPK2 in stock and I didn't want to wait so I said screw it and got the airaid and made my own heatshield. I insulated this insides with like a 1/2 inch thick heat padding who I believe dynamat use to make back then and used a rubber seal on the top to seal it off when the hood was closed. I have those pics somewhere at home on my pc. I'll have to send you a pic! Also, Injen makes their own "make-shift" heat shield. I call it "make-shift" because it doesn't totally seal the filter off from the hot engine bay, but does block it a tad bit.

Here's a picture

Also, if you never heard of them, Volant makes some nice CAI's. Here's the one for the charger

This threads needs to be renamed MACNA and cars:p

Hmm, Kirsh, I kinda like that Volant as it is a sealed unit and not open. All others really do not seal 100 % and will still pic up some hood air and will get worse with age. That Injen may have a heat shield but still no box to seal it or a air intake feeding it. Still all hot hood air like you said more or less. It is to bad they do that they could sell allot more of them if they where like others with a box and intake.

I had 4 of them :) all Limited Edition Smokey and the Bandit, 76, 78, 80 and 84. The 80 did not as it was the Turbo Trans-Am. The 84 was the fastest of the bunch but know where near my 70 Nova SS 396/402ci. TRW @ ~ 450 HP, 1/4 mi. low 12's. My buddy just finished his SRT4 and it does the high 11's and my old neighbor down the street runs Pro-Street, in the 10's with a 86 Buick Regal. Other cars I've muscle cars I've had: 51 Ford Tri-Power FlatHead V8, 60 Corvette 283 Tri-Power, 63 SS Impala 409 Dual-Quad, 66 Nova SS 283 reworked. 70 Nova SS 396/402ci TRW and 4 LE Trans Am. Drag raced in many classes, A/SS, B/SS, D/MP, K/FX, K/SA. Held a record for 2 years in A/SS in the 70 Nova till they changed the rules, which dropped the times to the 10's from the 12's & 13's. The guy that bought the 70 Nova rebuilt it and ran in the early day Pro Stock Class, then called A/FX. That Thunderbolt ran A/FX in the early day. I use to personally know years ago, Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Warren Johnson and Greg Anderson, as they came from my neck of the wood, Northern Mn.. Odd thing Warren now lives in Duluth Georgia  Greg was just up to Duluth last month for a big charity event but I was with Sanjay in NY visiting Joe Yaiullo at the Atlantis Aquarium.

Well I can tell you this...No-one can say you didn't live a full life! :). You have quite the resume!! I'm afraid to ask what else you tinkered with LOL!! That's a nice list of cars you had as well! Still waiting to get my first muscle car!! Guess it will have to wait a bit till the kids get a bit older as one is 5 and the other will be 2 in January and I can't deal with loading kids in a 2 door right now haha. On the Volant intakes, they are really nice! Always liked them. Good quality as well. Some of their setup's (depending on car) come with a heat shield similar to the airaid you posted the picture of and what I like about what they do is they use a pretty blue air filter cone instead of the rest of the competitors that usually stick with the red. Gives it it's own unique look. My Mugen intake that came in my car was designed exactly like that volant when it came from Japan in the Integra. People in the US would kill to have that and I removed it . Never planned on racing the car and didn't like the stock look so I removed it. I'm sure I lost a few hp doing it because it is a highly rated intake, but 2-3 hp here or there...Whatever LOL. The headers (4-1) and exhaust was Mugen as well. I priced it in the US and that exhaust for that little 4 cyl ran about $2500. If I were to buy and import that here, that would be a 4K for an exhaust after shipping and import duty was tagged on to it.. Cars and anything ocean related have always been my thing. Oh yea, and let's not forget bowling. Let's see you talk smack to me about that one now:lol:. I was actually featured in a US Bowling magazine at age 11 and the only person in Bahamaian history to win 3 consecutive national titles ;). Too bad I have 2 herniated discs which has put bowling on hold for me right now. Slowly getting better though and hopefully will avoid surgery. :)

BTW, you need to replace that pic on facebook of the charger. Your's you just posted looks a heck of a lot better!! :)
