Macro Algae

Does anyone know if macro algae needs rest a rest period? Or can i run my light under my sump 24/7 for them?

Best ran opposite your DT lights. Helps with stabilizing PH. I run my fuge light from 1am til 7am. DT lights start at 8am

It depends on what macro u are using cheato yes a dark period is fine but IMO and have seen over and over other macros turn white and release what they take in in a dark period and go sexual. And whenever they go sexual it will grow in your DT and most people don't want that....

My Sump is on 24/7 mainly for the caulerpa, otherwise it will go in reproductive mode and cloud my tank
My buddy has cheato only and does day/ nite cycle

I ran mine 16hr. 2 he overlap on and off. The reduce Ph fluctuations
