I just found my arrow crab eating my mandarin goby ... i hate him!!! and i don't want my wife to know that i lost the goby. i am getting rid off the arrow crab first thing tomorrow am. I am putting him in my other tank, if anyone is interested in him, feel free to stop by (I am in Kirkland). I would be interested in replacing my manadarin if anyone has one to sell/trade. Thank you and Merry Xmas!

it is true my mandarin died 2 weeks ago and i thought it was my blood shrimp that killed him but it was in fact just eating him beacause it had died and was detereoating

Before accusing the poor guy, is it possible that the Arrow Crab was just eating and cleaning up the dead fish? Are you sure the crab actually killed the Mandarin?

I have a 180gallon and at all times i see the pods with a flash light. they are all over the place. So maybe i should not be jumping to conclusion so fast... Thanks... if anyone wants the arrow crab plz let me know. He is the size of a fist (large)

Octopus, even without the conclusive evidence, I don't blame you...lol. I've got a Coral Banded Shrimp in my 46 that's getting HUGE. I recently witnessed it eating my Pipefish. I don't know if it killed it or not....but am unwilling to take any more chances. I'll be rehoming it soon...lol.

I would agree that mandarins are very slow and dwell on the rocks and sand/bottom. I also witnessed my large coral banded shrimp grab one of my mandarins. I was tempted to get rid of the shrimp but decided to wait and see what happens. Its been about three months and my pair of mandarins are still alive with no problems.
