I once saw someone have a seperate tank plumbed inline setup totally for mangroves. Other than that, haven't seen any other setups. :)

Put them any place you want, they dont do much of anything they grow to slow to be a nutrient exporter. They are pretty much just a novelty just for looks unless you have alot of mature ones.

Got mine in a 2 gallon bucket full of sand, chaeto growing around them and a 400 watt HQI Ushio for growth.

I'd like to have mangroves in my tank thats going together but actually in the display. Do you see a problem with the lighting burning the plants? 2x 250w de halides.

mine hasnt sprouted yet...

i have it in my sump with some CC and a 4" layer of sand on top...

i havent seen any growth lately, but i dont have the right lights..

hope i can keep it alive till the next setup

My halide is 17" from the top of the mangrove, 28" from water surface. Any closer and the leaves start burning.
The problem I run into is continually raising the fixture due to growth.
I have had mangroves in a display before but off to the side. Just slower growth.
