Marine Ich

I'm unsure about what you mean by "under neath"

Do you have some photos you can share? Check the Internet for fishes with Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans) so you see what it looks like.

After the best diagnosis we can give it, then a treatment can be recommended.

Better pictures would help, but doesn't sound like MI.
Perhaps an infection or fungus? Does it loom like little tight dots or is it more ragged or fuzzy?

Pictures aren't clear, but still helpful. It isn't Marine Ich. It appears to be an injury or infection in that area. The cause is pretty much up to you to determine -- a bad substrate, the fish tried to host in a strange coral or polyps, a tankmate attack, worms in the substrate that are carnivores and predatory, etc.

Move the fish to a hospital tank and treat with an antibiotic. I would suggest Maracyn Two for Saltwater Fishes. Double the initial dose and then follow directions on the medication. Please take more photos such that the fish fills the entire photo frame. It will be easier to get closeups in the hospital tank, I hope. If the fish doesn't show signs of healing after the 3rd day of treatment, let us know.

Hold the fish in quarantine for at least 4 weeks AFTER the treatment to be sure it has healed. Take this time to look over your marine system and the fish's diet for the cause of this.

Review the diet of the fish. Make sure the fish is getting a vitamin and fat supplement. This fish is an omnivore and needs vegetables in its diet. Please read and follow: Fish Health Through Proper Nutrition

Good luck! :D

Is it hosting or trying to host anything? When our clowns started trying to host the Torch coral they had marks all over them that made us think they had a disease, but it was just sting marks from the corals.
