they are driving me nuts.. both the female and male. I have them hosted in 2 RBTA and i have a 3rd RBTA all the way on the other side of the 180gallon tank.. yet they would not allow my other clown to get hosted. So mean! and i have to think twice every time i put my hand in the tank! The female nipping me scares the **** out of me when i am not paying attention. are all clowns like this? i am about to catch them and throw them into the sump or trade them out!!!

My clowns have not bit me one time. I think i have had them for almost a year now probably lees

Our Maroon never bit, which really surprised me. It just constantly covered corals that were on the sand bed.

Our pair of Black and White Occellaris, whole different story. She draws blood. She's removed chunks of skin and drawn blood several times. When in the 46, she'd attack your hand, no matter where it was, in the tank. In the 200, she seems a bit more comfortable with your hand in the tank, though she does still take on an aggressive posture. I haven't really given her the time to actually see if she'll bite, because....well....it hurts darnit!!!

I've had a pair of black ocellaris for almost 2 years now and i've never had issues with them biting me. I dont have any anemones in the tank but they do kind of host in the corner of the tank along the glass. From my experiences though the maroons seem to be a bit more aggressive then some of the other clown fish.

My Maroon is very aggressive, and has drawn blood as well. Now I just wear gloves because.. well it kind of hurts and I was having reflex reaction and scraping myself on other stuff when she was nailing me.. They are a great fish, with lots of personality, and she doesn't really go after the other fish..

I had a pair of Pink skunks that were kind of funny. Everytime I would put my hand in the tank the female would come up to it and start to rub on it like she is trying to use my hand as a host. But as soon as she swam away the male would come over and start to bite. Im thinking he was kind of jelous of me.

My perculas are fairly friendly in my 120. Surprisingly the little male is much more aggressive than my female. My female has never bitten me or even tried, while the male has bitten on several occasions and tried several more times. He's very protective of his toadstool leather (no anemones in tank). While my female will let me move things around near their toadstool and even the toadstool itself, the male won't stand for it. They've been together 3 and a half years and have never laid eggs yet. Neither of them cover corals in sand or rearrange coral frags (my red coris wrasse is in charge of flipping corals over and covering them in sand).

My female killed the male within a week. She doesn't attack me, she's too busy hosting three RBTA's. She drives them nuts; each of them gets totally beat up and shrivels away, losing all their tentacles for a while. She'll move to another and the cycle repeats itself until she moves to the next. I rarely see her swimming about and when I do its so funny - she waddles like an obese person. She's very cute.
