We want to ask everyone to come to the store this Saturday 1/19/13 at 10 AM (there WILL be coffee and doughnuts available to those who need it) for the big REVEAL TLC style.

Matt is coming over from Spokane to pick up his custom OBD aquarium, stand, led's. This is YOUR opportunity to welcome a fellow reefer back into the fold.

All of us at Oceans by Design would like to Thank Matt for giving us the opportunity to work with him on his dream setup.

Wow that setup is slick.
How big is the sump underneath? I really need to hit the lotto and have you guys crank out another. This is fantastic work.

The sump is a standard OBD setup measuring 46" X 16" X 16" that houses a protein skimmer, bio pellet reactor, and the dual GFO/carbon reactor, and a return pump, which in Matt's case is the Eheim 1262.

Looks sweet.
How do you get into the cabinet? I dont see any pulls on the doors.

That is one slick lighting system.

Very observant, No there is no pulls or hinges. These doors are held on by magnets. But Peppie you already knew this since this is your awesome idea.

Amazing work on the Stand by the way!!!!

Thank You Becca,
The idea of using magnets to hold the doors on is not mine, it has been around for quite sometime. I sent Matt a PM, and asked which method he would prefer.

Matt - when do we get to see pictures of this all setup? I know you didn't leave it in the car all night last night.

Thanks again to OBD for putting together such a beautiful setup! Their attention to detail is just awesome and they truly want to help you have your dream system, supply you with everything you need, and answer all your questions. In addition to the tank, stand, and lights, there was a huge pile of boxes containing sand, salt, pumps, test kits, a Tunze Osmolator, Neptune controller, heaters - even nets! Did I forget anything Becca?

In addition, Eric helped my with my RODI/saltwater mixing station design, and plans to run pipes in the walls for automatic water changes. He drew up the design for the system, created me a shopping cart full of the float switches and relays and sent it to me, and emailed me an electrical schematic of the way to hook up the switches and valves.

My point is that. If you want to have a nice system of any size, and you don't even know much, they are the company go with. They'll step you through it all the way!

Michael, no pictures yet. I set the stand where it goes, but put the tank and lights downstairs in the spare bedroom until I have a chance to run the plumbing and set up the RODI/ATO/automated water change system. I needed the stand and sump in place to figure out exactly where to come out of the wall. Have to run the pipes and hook it all up, probably going to take a little while. Hopefully, not quite as long as your project though! 😊

I'm planning on updating my own build thread with the details of all that plumbing and the rest of the process. Pictures soon to come over there!
