MH or T5 on 46gallon

Im looking at a coralife single 150w 2 64w pc 2 led fixture or a Nova extreme 4 39w t5. Id have to cut the center brace out for the MH and im not sure if it would spread light all over the tank.

Cutting the center brace out is NOT something you want to do. If you were able to find a 2X150 MH, you'd be better off. On the other hand, I can't really recommend Nova's T5s either. Unless they've upgraded their fixtures, they don't have individual reflectors above each bulb. Check out Sunlight Supply's Tek 5 at http://www.reefgeek.com/ . They're a great fixture and have a reflector design that wraps the reflector around each bulb for MUCH better lighting that actually hits the water. I have the 6 bulb unit on my 75 and love it.
