So meaning more K means less algae,Sorry Iam a noob in this.

Generally speaking, higher K bulbs arent as intense and have a lower PAR rating. Because they have less Photosynthetically Active Radiation, (PAR) they dont grow algae as fast.

Thanks Maxx,I was using the 20 K for one year,will try 10 k for now and see.If it doesn't work will try 14K.
 
Keep in mind that you are going increase the light intensity significantly going from 20k to 10k. I would strongly caution you to acclimate everything photosynthetic in your tank to the increased lighting, otherwise you'll bleach it out and could wind up killing it.

Blue color desired

Go with either XM 20K bulb or corallife 20K bulb. They really get your colors of the corals popping vibrant appearance.
