Help Support Reef Aquarium & Tank Building Forum:

I notched in vertical 2x4 so they wouldn't protrude into the cabinet and I could seal the edges of plywood bottom with silicone to prevent any accidental water spills from seeping under the cabinet.

going with a bare bottom tank, using cutting board on the bottom. I cut the bottom side edge at a 45 degree angle to keep it off the silicone seal.

I purchased two boxes of premium fiji Live rock, and one box of fiji show from reefer madnes.I cured it for three weeks in a Rubbermaid tub and now it is in the tank to start the cycling process as you can see it is just starting the diatoms phase, next month I will buy one more box of tonga branch to finish it off. this is not my finished or even the start of my aquascaping project just placed the rock on the bottom for now to get a good look at it and to see if anything interesting start to grow.

Wow MK,
Absolutely Outstanding!
Keep up the great work. How is the hood coming along? I figured you will be building that too. Let us know more about the equipment plans so we can drool along......lol.
