Monti Cap Combo Experiment

i have seen mixed monti caps before intertwined with each other.. i decided to take a frag of a deep purple and a frag of an orange/red cap.. i glued them right next to each other.. if it works, i think it will be a cool combo and a really neat showpiece when it grows!!!! has anyone tried this??? i am not sure if one will kill the other, but i thought i would try it!! i also threw in a pic of my Leng Sy cap... it is growing nicely and at a pretty fast rate!!

It's gonna look cool when it grows out! I saw a green and a red fusing together on reefvideos.

I have done this with a piece of my purple monti cap and a piece of my pink monti cap-its been a couple months now and all is well but they have not began to touch each other yet, so we will have to wait and see how it goes long term.

i glued mine almost touching each other.. i will know very soon if it works or not....the orange one will be bigger within a week or two.. this purple seems to be a fast grower as well!!! if it works, i will do several more that way.. i have about 10 different color caps

i am really interested to see what will happen.. i don't think they will fuse.. i kinda expect them just to grow around each other.. it would be really cool if they fused and did something neat!!!

I did the same with some green with purple rim and some red last year.

Finn so how well did it work? Pictures?

I thought I had a bunch of pictures but they were all on my computer that was fried during last years windstorm.

If I remember right, the red had a tendency to curl and layer really nice, but the green went almost straight out.

I'll keep looking.

They don't morph, and the one that grows faster will eventually dominate. They WILL intertwine together nicely and look really cool! Good luck. D
