Monti Eating Nudi

How do these guys fare in super high flow? Maybe they can be defeated by putting them in another body of water, and hit them with a Maxijet from 1/4" or something? I don't imagine this would take care of the eggs.

ccorral, a friend of mine had the more common zoanthid eating nudis, and was able to pick up a Yellow Coris Wrasse, which he's actually witnessed eating the nudies. He also has no more signs of them, since adding the wrasse. I don't know if monti eating nudis are the same.

yep, that's the exact one that i found!!!!! i haven't seen any more since then....i have been looking every night a few hours after the lights go out

well i found one more today on the same monti cap....i was looking it over and found one feeding on the edge of the cap...i got it off and checked over the rest of it..i didn't find anymore...i am just going to keep giving them hell!!!!!:D i am going to keep looking every night after lights out!!! none of my other monti's have any signs of them

I think it's a good sign that they are pretty much staying on 1 coral. Makes it easier to find them and take care of them. Hang in there..

Well I took desperate measures and my once beautiful purple monti has been reduced to 3 quarter size frags. I fragged it a week ago and no sign of nudis on the frags, no new white edges, and they are retaining their color. I have my fingers crossed that I can save some of this coral. I found a nudi on my encrusting orange monti yesterday and removed it and plan on another iodine dip tonight for all of them.

I am baffled on how I go these buggers. The encrusting monti came with the live rock I got back in October and the purple monti had been in my softi tank since last summer. I moved the purple monti into my larger tank a couple of months ago, it was growing well and then the nudis showed up. No other corals or rock had been added to the tank prior to the nudis showing up.
