Hello, I am moving from Chicago to Seattle this month and want to get involved with the reefing community when I arrive. Chicago has a very large reefing community that posts on ReefCentral.com, however no large community for the Seattle area. Is there another group besides ReefFrontiers that also has an active forum? Thanks!

Welcome to this site. I now only post here as it has shown me to be that much better than all the others combined. Hope the move is an easy one for you.:)

I think you will like what Washington has to offer. If you wanted to, you could go to a fish club meeting each week end. The members of clubs in Washington worked it out if people wanted to go to Meetings in Tri-Cities, Spokane, or Seattle in the Same month they could. Its a good group of people working together. If you are here by July you should check out the MCMAC. Its a a opportunity for all clubs and hobbyist to meet at one location in Washington.

This has been going on since 2004.

Washington is the only place that I know of that has such a clubs working together to help each other. The LFS are pretty darn awesome too.
You could be a member of all the clubs.
I wish you a safe, relaxing journey out here to Washington State.
I moved here from Illinois in 83. Its the best move I ever made for myself. I miss my family in Illinois, but love it here.
Good luck, hope to see you in Washington soon,
Ed:)

Wow thanks a lot for the warm welcome already. I am really looking forward to my move and getting involved with a new reefing community. Thanks again for the welcome and look forward to meeting you guys. Jarvis

Welcome to RF and welcome to the Pacific Northwest! To my knowledge, this Forum has the lagrest concentration of Seattle folks on it. I think you will find that there is a great reefing community here.
