Mushroom Spawning?

This morning I saw my new mushrooms let out a creamish white cloud out of its mouth. On mIRC I was told by a girl that it spawns with thite/cream color cloud and lets off zooxanthiella (cant spell it) that is brown. Is it spawning? I dont think it was any defense mechanism, it didnt bother any of the other corals. What is this mysterious cloud that shroom let off?

I think maybe it relieved it self, they useally split when reproducing.

I'd agree with that. Corallimorphs typically split themselves in order to reproduce.

speaking of mushrooms doing strange things... I just got done doing a 10% water change on my tank complete with gravel vacuming. Afterwards my green metallic mushroom colony was releasing white and green things that looked like thread that floated throughout the tank. Did I kill them or were they just expelling wastes?

I wouldnt worry too much. Mushrooms are pretty much bulletproof.

They are just irritated. My hairy mushrooms do that when the clowns rub on them.

Probably mesenterial filaments, part of the digestive system of coral/ polyps.
