Been lurking here for a while...thought I'd post a picture of my 120, T5 lit SPS dominated reef. It's 1.5 years old now.

Thank you! Virtually everything in there was grown from frags from local reefers and stores, with the exception of the pocillipora, the pavona, and the fungia.

How long do you leave your T-5's on, and how often do you change the bulbs? I recently switched to T-5 from MH and really like it.

I leave the first 4 bulbs (the actinics and blue plus bank) on from 10am-9pm.
The second bank of bulbs (daylights and 2 blues) from 12pm-8pm.
I change them once a year. They say you can run them longer than that. I started in Nov 2005 with my first set when I set my 72 back up after Katrina killed it, didn't change the bulbs until April 2007. By this time, I was noticing a definite loss of color in the corals, so, I am going to switch them once a year.

Welcome to RF! Sweet tank I also run T-5 on my 65 gallon sps dominate tank. I love my T-5's!

Yes. 8 bulb TEK, with 2 Fiji Purples, 2 UVL SuperActinics, 4 ATI Blueplus. Never used halides...my tank before this one (lost it due to 2 week power outage after hurricane Katrina) was VHO lit, softies.

A new picture from 1-4-08... not much change, but, I got a new lens for my camera and wanted to try it out :)
